Today's Motorola Phone Range - Motorola Defy XT, Motorola Droid Razr M And Motorola Electrify 2
There are a slew of smart phones that are launched from the Motorola house regularly. Some of them are pricey phones with exquisite features like the Motorola Droid Razr M, while the others are mid-way budget smart phones that are basic in design and functionality and provide a beginners’ smart phone experience, like the Motorola Defy XT and the Motorola Electrify 2.

Low-Cost Motorola Defy XT

Perhaps the only water-resistant smart phone, the Motorola Defy XT is blessed with a robust construction and rugged design. It is low on performance and data speeds, but for a beginner who wants to know how owning a smart phone can feel, the Defy XT would be a great choice.

The Android 2.3 OS it comes with lets you multitask using the dynamics from a low speed single-core Snap-dragon processor and a paltry 512 MB RAM. The 5 MP camera lets you take photos with good quality and basic contrasts. The call quality is fine but the apps do take time to load.

With a word of praise for the waterproof and dust-proof design, there is nothing much to get excited about with the 3.7 inch screen either. Buy the Motorola Defy XT if you’re keen to know how to handle a smart phone on a budget. You may want to switch on to a Droid Razr handset later on for a better experience.

Mid-Range Motorola Electrify 2

The Motorola Electrify 2 is a mid-level phone with a powerful CPU, a great Android 4.0 OS, and a 5 MP camera that clicks average quality pictures. Slim, smart, super quick, and innovative, the Motorola Electrify 2 is a great choice for both corporate phone usage and college students who want to have fun.

The only two glitches with the Electrify 2 is that there is no 4G compatibility making Wi-Fi speeds low at 1.6 MBps and the cost of the Electrify smart phone, which ironically is the same as the Samsung Galaxy S3, a much superior smart phone to have.

Overlooking these flaws, the Electrify 2 is a great smart phone to have.

Top-End Motorola Droid Razr M

Looking very much like the iPhone in many ways, the Motorola Droid Razr M powered by an Android 4.0 OS is one of the best mobile phones to roll out of the Motorola house. The dual-core processor coupled with a 1 GB RAM makes multitasking possible for corporate users too.

The extra large screen makes it possible to stack apps one next to the other. Moreover, the Droid Razr M supports the 4G network making Wi-Fi pure joy. The 8 MP camera it boasts might not be the best in the business but does help you click award winning pictures with decent contrasts and colours.

You finally have a cost effective smart phone that ‘walks the walk’ with the Droid Razr M. We’d like to see more innovation and multitasking options on the phone, though. That said, the Droid Razr M is a superb phone to have.

Phil Turner is thinking of buying a Motorola Atrix but thinks there are a lot of good Motorola options.
